How to Transition your Skincare Routine Into Warmer Weather

Spring and warmer weather is officially here and so are important changes that need to be incorporated into your skincare routine according to a board-certified dermatologist.

1. Throw out old beauty products

Beauty products expire and continuing to use them will cause breakouts and skin irritation. The products will also no longer offer the same optimal benefit they promised when you use them after the recommended date of use so it's important to spring clean and throw them away after about 6 months of use.

2. Use a lightweight cleanser and moisturizer

The warmer months call for a moisturizer that can easily absorb into your skin while still hydrating and keeping skin from drying out. We recommend the Bioderm Sensibio cleanser and Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream moisturizer.

3. Exfoliate

When our skin is coming out of its winter phase, the best way to address the dry and flaky skin from the previous season is to gently exfoliate in order to have a clean and smooth base. Use a gentle exfoliator with glycolic acid like SkinKure Glycolic 10% pads.

4. Opt for serums and moisturizers with hyaluronic acid

Opt for serums and moisturizers with hyaluronic acid to add optimal hydration. We recommend SkinKure Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream moisturizer.

5. Upgrade your SPF

The sun's out and hotter than ever so your SPF should transition to a broad-spectrum SPF that's at least 50 SPF like SkinKure Oil-Free Mineral SPF 50.
